Collective of teams and clubs

We are more than a Regional Sports Organisation (RSO), we are part club, part fraternity but mostly a community.

We support all our teams so they can train, run events together, notably the Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta and the Auckland Regional Dragon Boat Championships. We built our reputation on good sportsmanship and having a passion for making dragon boat racing available to everyone.  We have a great network of sweeps, paddlers, and coaches who help make this non-profit initiative fun and rewarding.

Dragon boating started in Auckland in 1988 with over 1,000 participants annually. We formally incorporated in 2008 (society registration number 2166967) and a registered charity (registration number CC44176) run by the paddlers for the paddlers, enabling us to key costs low and train all year round with regular racing.

Our goal

Our goal is to promote, facilitate and develop the sport of Dragon Boating within the Auckland region, by providing training facilities, equipment, support craft, rescue operators, mentoring and events.
